Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites

I absolutely love Reese’s Peanut Butter cups but those are definitely not healthy. As an alternative chocolate craving these are definitely a go to. These don’t break me out like chocolate but satisfy that craving. This one is so easy to make and you only need 5 ingredients!

This recipe makes about 21-23 Bites.img_8918

2/3 cups creamy peanut butter

1 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup ground flax seeds

2 tablespoons honey

Blueberry Almond Bites

This one is my favorite bites for morning/ breakfast time. They have so many good and whole some ingredients and taste amazing. These might make you use the bathroom, because they’re packed with so much fiber. I don’t think of that as a bad thing and usually I’ll double up and drink some lemon water with them as an extra detox. Definitely must-try these easy to make snacks!

img_8921Makes about 25 bites.

1 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup dried bluberries

1/2 cup ground flax seeds

1/2 cup sliced almonds

4 tablespoons chia seeds

2 tablespoons coconut oil

2/3 cups almond butter

1/2 cup honey

Instructions:

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until they are even spread out.
  2. Use an ice cream scoop tool to make ball shape and then continue to roll with your hands.
  3. Lay out on a cookie sheet or any flat pan and place in the fridge.
  4. Enjoy!

NOTE:

If you want them to stay fresh longer you may put in the freezer and move over to fridge a few hours before eating.

Cocktail Recipes: Girls Night In Style

This post is just for the girls, especially the ones who LOVE hosting girls nights. I feel like every woman in the world needs to have few girlfriends and go out for a night on the town. Realistically, the older you get it’s a lot harder to plan these kind of nights. I usually opt in for the more relaxed, stay in, movie or board games night. OH and throw in a face mask and some cocktails!

Throughout the years my best friend and I have tried to mess around in the kitchen and create some amazing cocktails. They don’t ALWAYS turn out great but here are a few of our staples!

Raspberry Lemonade Margaritas

These are the easiest drinks to make! Usually if i am hosting a girls night (or any kind of event really) i want something easy and simple that everyone will love. All you need for this recipe is Lemonade (any will work), Raspberries, Tequila, and Triple Sec. You can also throw in mint and lemon slices, or just the raspberries will do! Also, I personally prefer to use raspberry lemonade, but any will work. (For one glass, just change all of the cups to ounces). This recipe was taken from Crazy For Crust.

Throw in some raspberries and lemon slices to garnish!

White Wine Sangria

pexels-photo-313715.jpegTo say I am obsessed with wine, is an understatement. I also feel like it is a girl’s night staple. Wine is definitely my go to gift, dinner drink, and all around first choice when it comes to a night out. It’s a “classy” girl’s drink.

One particular night I wanted to spice up my wine. Make it a little extra special. I know guys, sangria isn’t some brand new drink or anything but I personally have never made it. Until now. Grab a bottle of wine, chop up some fruits, and get mixing!

A Pitcher:

1 bottle of white wine                        1 orange

1 bottle of champagne                       1 grapefruit

2 cups sparkling water                      1 cup strawberries/ blueberries (your choice)

Tip: Chop up the fruits and throw them in the pitcher, THEN add all of the liquids on top. I let it sit about an hour in the fridge before serving.

Champagne Maragritas

As much as I love regular margaritas, sometimes I am looking for a twist. Champagneblack-and-white-alcohol-bar-drinks.jpg adds an extra something to an otherwise “okay” margarita. This can be done with or without the sugared rim. Personally, I think it adds a cute touch and makes the drink seem “fancier”.

1 Glass:

1 oz. Tequila

1 oz. Triple Sec

3 oz. Champagne

2 tsp. Sweet lime juic

1/2 T. Lime juice

A cocktail shaker

Ice

Tip: Use granulated sugar for the rims.

March Skin Care Favorites

I’ve tried so many products this month and I wanted to share a few with you. I’m completely obsessed with skin care. I love face masks and moisturizers, it literally makes my skin happy. Also, I have such dry skin that without all of these things my skin almost panics and breaks out and feels pretty dehydrated. The biggest thing for me is obviously water. I drink a whole cup as soon as I wake up, several throughout the day, and one last one before bed. I also have a whole skin care routine, if you want me to share please let me know and I will in the future. I also absolutely LOVE makeup, but I definitely don’t wear it everyday. If you want to see my make up favorites, let me know in the comments. Continue reading March Skin Care Favorites

Detox Waters

I know we’ve all woken up feeling gross, no energy, and super bloated. For me, most of these kinda of mornings are when I drank just a little too much the night before. Today was just one of those mornings, so I decided to sit down and share my tips. I have a few secrets for feeling 1000 times better the next morning and this is just one of them. Detox water is so good for you because it helps flush out all the toxins and “bad” food or drinks from the day or week before. I’m going to show you guys 4 of my favorite detox waters, all with yummy fruits and things to spice up your mornings! *Disclaimer: I am not a dietitian, this is just what works for ME, and if you’re allergic to any of these please find alternatives that work for you.*

Lemon & Cayenne

I’m sure you have all heard of this “cleanse” or detox before. It is not a secret, this is a very well-known detox water because of all of its benefits. Cayenne is basically a kick starter to your metabolism, instantly you can feel less bloated and honestly everything you eat throughout the day passes quicker through your system. Now, let’s be honest, some days I just cannot convince myself to put that extra cayenne in and I do plain lemon water. It happens, don’t beat yourself up, lemon water by itself also makes for a great detox and honestly a debloater (I think i just made up a word, but that’s okay LOL).

Raspberry, Mint, & Lemonpexels-photo-914241.jpeg

Okay, maybe I just love lemon in my water, but it’s also good for you so who cares. The raspberry adds sweetness to this water but it’s not overpowering. I love this water on a day that I’m feeling very low energy. It helps push me throughout the day honestly. Mint is a great stress reliever, so I’ve also had this at night before bed to just kind of wind down my day.

Spa Water

This so rehydrating! I cannot stress this enough, when your body is dehydrated is doesn’t function as well as it should. Cucumber’s hydrating properties just makes your body and your skin look so much better. More importantly it helps your tummy feel its best. Just a few slices in your water and you’re good to go. Why is it called spa water? Think about a relaxing trip to a spa. Probably one the first things you will see when you walk in will be cucumber water. It’s relaxing, helping your skin, and making your tummy feel its best all in one.

Strawberry, Mint, Lemon, Cucumber, and Apples

I know this sounds like a lot but just hear me out. We’ve already talked about cucumber, lemon, and mint so I wont talk too much about those. I will tell you about strawberries. This is probably th easiest fruit to add to your water. I mean, who doesn’t like strawberries? They’re sweet and packed with Vitamin C, it’s the best of both worlds. Apples, personally I like to go for green apples, have amazing antioxidants. I like the green ones because they’re a little less sweet and add a bit of tart. This balances out with the sweetness of the strawberries.

Road Trip Do’s and Don’ts

Traveling to a new city seems so exciting, until you begin thinking about all the details. Will you fly? Is it close enough to drive? How many hours am I willing to travel? Or, like in my case, the budget just isn’t big enough for a last-minute flight. My latest road trip took 17 HOURS. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of road trips. I love stopping and being able to take the “scenic route”, but what happens when your 10 hour trip turns into 17?  You start to get a little moody and tired.

These are my tips to make your trip fun but not take too long.

DO Bring pillows & blankets.

Trust me, no one can drive for 10 straight hours by themselves. Whether it is your spouse, friends, or family, it IS okay to say you need a break. You don’t have to fall asleep but being cozy and comfy is definitely a plus. This is especially necessary if you’re driving somewhere cold.

DONT Stop every hour.

Plan out your stops, check your gas tank, and don’t drink a gallon of water in the car. Especially if you’re traveling with a group of friends who may not need to stop so much. This will probably cause tension during the rest of the ride. If there are sightseeing spots, plan them out and make sure EVERYONE is on board.

DO Take a million pictures.

Even if people make fun of you for it, keep taking them. When you look back at your trip, you and everyone else will love those memories.

DONT Leave your personal belongings behind.

Please make sure before you leave the rest stop that you have EVERYTHING. It’s inconvenient to everyone with you and especially annoying when you realize three hours later and you have to turn around. This is why my trip became 17 hours long by the way.
